Koin 6 Turf and Ivy Solutions Feature

Turf and Ivy Solutions, led by former Harlem Globetrotter Pee Wee Harrison, is offering an innovative response to Portland’s costly graffiti problem by installing synthetic ivy on graffiti-prone walls. Traditional graffiti cleanup costs the city around $70,000 per month, often with repeat tagging within days. Turf and Ivy’s ivy system not only acts as a deterrent but is also easy to clean—graffiti can be rinsed off with water. Backed by ODOT for a pilot program, the initiative has already transformed a 350-foot stretch of I-5 North, with more sites underway. The project is environmentally friendly, visually appealing, and supports local contractors, with hopes for citywide expansion.

ODOT Graffiti Abatement

Turf and Ivy Solutions, in collaboration with Coastal Initiatives and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), has launched a pioneering effort to combat graffiti in Portland through the installation of synthetic ivy. This partnership blends innovation, sustainability, and community impact—offering a cost-effective, low-maintenance, and visually appealing alternative to traditional graffiti removal.
